Help for our patients' petsOur mission at Treasure Coast Hospice is to provide "compassionate, comprehensive, high-quality care to our patients and those who share their lives." Through the Pet Peace of Mind® program we recognize that our patients count their pets among those who share their lives.

The program's goal is to enable Treasure Coast Hospice patients to keep their pets with them throughout their end-of-life journey. The program is available to all of our patients who have pets.

We recognize that many people receiving our care depend on their pets for unconditional love, acceptance, comfort and companionship. When it is needed the most, we are there for the whole family, including the pets.

How you can help

There are many opportunities for you to participate in this groundbreaking program.

Volunteer

The success of the Pet Peace of Mind program depends on a dedicated group of passionate volunteers who assist in the care of the pets. Volunteer responsibilities vary by situation but will typically include:

  • In-home pet care
  • Transporting pets to groomers and vets
  • Pet food delivery
  • Active play

Treasure Coast Hospice provides our volunteers with the required training for this program. For training dates, call AnnMarie St. James, volunteer manager, at 772-403-1762.
