Treasure Coast Hospice

Treasure Coast Hospice Counseling Services is dedicated to serving the patients of Treasure Coast Hospice and the residents of Martin and St. Lucie counties who have experienced the loss of a loved one. Below is a listing of the services that are specially designed for individuals who are anticipating or have experienced the loss of a loved one.

Individual Counseling

Private counseling provides individualized attention to your needs. Asking for help is not a sign of weakness but a way to actively participate in your own healing. Services begin with an initial consultation, providing grief education and an explanation of services. Additional sessions provide individualized goals and an opportunity to share your experiences with an expert in the field of grief and loss. Individual counseling is recommended if you would like private sessions or if you are experiencing intense emotions that overwhelm your ability to eat, sleep or meet the daily activities of living. Group Counseling

Understanding Grief
For those in the early stages of their grief. Designed to assist you in your healing journey and to provide grief education and support to those tho have recently experienced the loss of a loved one.

New Beginnings
Bereavement support for those who are ready to rebuild their lives after a loss. The objective of this group is to assist you in finding your own path as you adjust to the changes in your life.

Healing Journey
For those who are seeking ongoing support throughout their grief process. This group provides support and education for continued healing. It is designed for those who desire encouragement, problem-solving skills and support in their journey toward reconciliation with their loss.

• Accepting and expressing feelings.
• Sharing memories of loved ones.
• Learning how to cope with anniversaries and holidays.
• Dealing with the stress that comes from grief.

• Goal setting and reaffirming self confidence.
• Learning to use time wisely.

Caregiver Support
For those caring for their loved one. We invite you to share in a warm and supportive environment. Facilitators will provide support and guide discussions on relevant topics.

Social Support Groups

Lunch Bunch
This group will provide those who have previously attended a support group with the opportunity to meet new friends after a loss. Bi-monthly.
   
R.O.U.T.E.S.
R.O.U.T.E.S. (Resources, Opportunities, Understanding, Togetherness, Enrichment and Socialization) is a social support group for bereaved individuals that meets twice a month and hosts social gatherings in the community. Meetings offer an hour of socializing, followed by an hourlong program that may be educational, informational or entertaining, Advanced registration required.

Worldwide Candle-Lighting Honoring Children
Held annually on the second Sunday in December, this program unites family and friends around the globe in lighting candles to honor and remember children we have lost. For more information see

Crisis Intervention/Grief in the Workplace
Quick-response programs designed for schools, businesses and organizations when a sudden or unexpected death occurs. Services provided upon request.
